Creative Writing Workshop to ignite your writing in fiction or drama. 25th November, 7pm.

Service Description

Tuesday 25th November at 7pm at Platf9rm Towerpoint, Brighton, led by award-winning writer, Linda Marshall Griffiths. For Platf9rm members, Brighton and Hove. Are you writing a novel, got a TV show in your head, or walking around with a story you want to tell? Or are you fascinated by the process of creative writing and want to dive in? If you are a new or experienced writer this creative writing workshop will give you an opportunity to explore new ideas through creative writing exercises and exploration of writing skills. The writing starts here. This is a taster session for a new eight-week writing course at Platf9rm, Tower Point, starting in the New Year. This will give you opportunity to explore in depth: text, dialogue, characterisation, genre, form, narrative, structure and story. Developing skills to create an initial idea into something much bigger. With weekly writing tasks and development of a sole writing practice begin a journey towards creating a new piece of writing in fiction or a dramatic form. Linda Marshall Griffiths work has been short-listed/honorary mention for the Andromeda Fiction Prize, 2025 and was a finalist for The Prix Italia, 2025. Her stage-play, The Invisible, was shortlisted the Women's Prize for Playwriting. Her plays have won a Pearson Award, Grand Prix at the Prix Marulic, BBC Best Single Audio Drama, Finalist for the Susan Smith Blackburn Theatre Award, Tinniswood Award, Arias, MEN Best New Play and the Yale Drama Series. She is currently working on projects for TV, theatre and fiction. She also has a PhD in silence and has taught on Creative Writing MA's at Cambridge and York and Leeds Universities.
